Damilola Taylor Young Achiever of the Year Award

I Power I introduced the first Damilola Taylor Award for young achievers in May 2003 at the Anti Bullying Conference for Young People. They will continue to play a part of I Power I anti bullying conferences for young people.

This award, presented at the Anti Bullying Conference for Young People, is for young people between the ages of 11 to 18 years of age. There are 2 awards to young achievers, one each for a boy and a girl.

The winners of these awards will have shown courage in the face of hardship, achieving something in the face of adversity, and will have overcome experiences of bullying in their life.

Anyone may nominate a young person for this award. The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges including young people and Damilola Taylor's father.

These awards are a celebration of young people and their achievements in life. It is a positive sharing with young people, and a way of creating new role models for them.
